It just occurred to me... something about being a christian from an example i know..

N that is.. if u call urself a christian.. other than going to church, bible studies or watever..

Those sermons they give in church about living ur life as a christian or a testimony to God AND also others..it's true.

Coz ur actions that come from urself n ur own true intentions can sometimes mar the name of being a christian. Not all of us like that though.. don't get the wrong impression :)

Hi guys!!

Guess it's been a long time too.. n i haven't had time or rather just din feel like updating this blog but i guess nobody has really read it so far haha..

Well anyway an announcement is that due to daylight saving thing, Australia is now 3 hours ahead of Singapore so please remember..

Yup on Saturday went to some concert with pamela at the sydney music conservatorium and it was not bad. The whole orchestra thing, din really see the whole place coz we forgot but at least i can say i've been in there haha. After that, i HAD to drink some bubble tea so went to central to buy it and then walked around a bit. Surprisingly it was past 6 n the market city shopping center shops were still open.. funny. But yar i bought a pair of slippers for $10 haha.

The daylight saving thing started on Sunday n it lasts till March. So went to church an hour earlier but technically it's still at 7. If not i felt gross n nua-ed at home the whole day watching some korean drama i downloaded haha..

MEL Day 4

TUES DAY 4

We came back real late from penguin island.. oops it's philip island.. see la everybody is asking about penguin island but actually it's philip island and it's the penguin parade haha that's wat they call it. The penguins are so cute!! U shud go see it, just once..

So we woke up rather late and met Michelle and her whole group of guy frens. So them n me n nikki n jo went to the Royal Melbourne Show. It's a huge carnival or fun fair.. Like the UK show in singapore but much much bigger. N when u went in and starting looking at all the rides and exclaiming how scary they were. We happily decided to be brave and sit this ride called no limit! Michelle, me, nikki, jo. Well, it sure is.. it was really scary! Actually quite.. well u're almost upside down and hanging there and then u see yourself swooping and "falling to the ground". The frightening part is when u go upside down and the machine swings u and u flip and then u hit ur head against the plastic part of the seat behind u. Bleah.. After that i felt a bit headachy or oozy.

So yar.. after that, no more rides for me!! We got cheated at some aiming game. Or rather.. the stall holder knew we'll get anxious and screw up. She gave us some deal if we all pay and play and as long as one of us gets 2 balls in. We all get a huge toy! Somehow it din work.. sian ah. I was complaining abt it till they had to stop me and ask me to shut up!

Yar.. so after that, michelle and her frens went back to the city for dinner but i went back with nikki n jo coz they needed to do some work and i wanted some more sleep! All ready for shopping the next day!

MEL Day 3

DAY 3

Began with dim sum that day, while waiting for seats, we came across some tour agency and booked a day tour to go philip island and see penguins!!!

So on monday, we went off to our day tour. We went to some farm, cattle farm? It's small but they have some cows and sheeps, birds, a horse haha, n an area with a big pond. They have ducks there and kangeroos. The kangeroos were quite big a bit scary.. but we took photos with the smaller ones haha. Anyway we had free scones and tea there! Yum.. scones with strawberry jam and cream ha..

Next it was the koala conservatory on philip island. It just this small place with lots of gum trees and some walkways for u to spot the koalas. We managed to see some close up.. and spot some sleeping in the trees. But i tink we only saw less than 10 koalas? Haha i think there are very few in the conservatory and nikki and joanna were disagreeing with me. But it seems like it haha..

Next the highlight of the day, the penguin parade at philip island!!! Well, basically philip island is pretty much greenery but there are people living on the island or some just holidays homes. It is also home to the smallest penguins in the world!! Haha.. they lives in the hills and lives in burrows they have made. In the evening, around 6:45, they come back to the shore after fishing for many days. They do so at night coz it's less likely they'll get spotted by predators on the beach. N they do it in big groups once one penguin has checked that it is safe.

We went to the exclusive viewing platform.. i repeat that exclusive. hahaha.. u see.. i went up to the ranger to ask where the exclusive platform was.. n i got laughs from nikki and joanna la.. they say i auntie lor.. so i am.. haha

But anyway yar.. the platform we were at.. u can see the penguins coming rite over the sand and walking rite in front of u!!! Then if u follow them along the broadwalk, u can see them waddling back to their burrows.. So cute!!!! they're rite beside u!

So that was really interesting.. It's an experience ha but couldn't take any pictures or videos coz we're not allowed not. So that's out 3rd day!

MEL Day 2

Sunday. DAY 2

The weather in melbourne was a bit crazy haha.. the winds were strong and suddenly on sunday, it was so cold like winter!!! N it was windy and raining..

Wah.. ha but we still managed to get to the city, after getting a lift to the nearby station from the landlady. Then it was dim sum!!! At this restaurant in chinatown.. supposedly award winning.. called shark fin something haha.

After that, it was shopping! At bridge road, there are some factory outlets and shops.. took lots of photos there.. with our shopping bags along the street. N some of this gate we found that is quite artistic ah.. (the one with the flying birds haha u find it). haha i bought my sunglasses from sportsgirl!

Then it was off to crown casino!! Just to look see.. ha mum, i'm not getting addicted. But signed up as a member for free and they gave me $5 credit and I won $17 at jackpot! haha talk abt beginner's luck eh haha. Yup and then we had.. dessert at the restaurant with a lovely display of huge cakes and pastries!!! Yum.. so we share some cake ha. The restaurant is called.. erm.. let me see.. grecco's? or sth like that..

The melbourne train system

Unlike sydney's train system which works like singapore's MRT system, melbourne train system is different. In sydney, u choose the train stop u want to get off and if u choose day return, u can only get on and off the train using ur card at the entry, 4 times. However, in melbourne, the train stops are sectioned into zone 1,2,3. Zone 1 being the zone surronding the city and zone 2,3 further away, to the suburbs.

Ha nikki and joanna happen to stay just a few stops out of zone 1. But anyway if u live in zone 2 like them, u have to buy a zone1+2 ticket which is more expensive. But if u live in zone 1, u just buy a zone 1 ticket. So no matter how many stops u r taking, near or far, as long as it is in zone 1. U pay a standard fare. Ah.. not so cheap but it's good for tourists coz with a zone 1 ticket, u can get in and out of any station in zone 1 as many times as u want and also take trams and buses as many times as u r in zone 1. Good ah.. haha. N of course, i found out from the girls that there are ways of evading the fare unlike in sydney hahaha.

Yup, there are loads of trams in melbourne as part of conservation. So if u dun really want to walk in the city just hop onto a tram. Good ah.. ha. So u'll see pictures of me and trams.. Also, if u want to get on and off the train, u have to pull open the door using a knob or button! ha save energy..

MEL Day 1

DAY 1

OK! My flight was at 11.30am at the Sydney domestic airport. However, I woke up at 6.30am.. so i was trying to sleep in and snooze and by the time i managed to fall asleep, my alarm clock rang and i snoozed it and u know the rest is history.. But not to worry they usually are late or rather relaxed in domestic flights n only allow boarding 20minutes before the take-off so i was on time haha.

Anyway it doesn't take long to reach the airport by train from my house but for adult fare, it's freaking expensive. haha rather la.. $13.80.. compared to student, it's $9.80 i think. But i ain't suppose to get student fare.. international students aren't supposed to have concession. Horrible rite..

Ok so i arrived in Melbourne airport at 1pm or so!!! Was thinking of taking a bus up to nikki's place at macleod but they dun have a bus service that goes up north so took the skybus (an express service all the way to the city). Called michelle and she said she'll meet me at 4 plus. So i told her and nikki, i'll dump my bags in the locker and walk around town first.

The skybus bus arrived at southern cross station which is one of the city loop stations. Din really know how the train fare system worked, I asked for a map at one of the hotels and walked to melbourne central. It wasn't a very fast walk.

So had a nice chat with michelle over dinner, walking around mebourne central (city) and drinking bubble tea!! Haha so there is bubble tea in melbourne ok. She took me to drink some real authentic taiwanese bubble tea. I ordered plum green tea thinking it was shen buay green tea but it tasted herbally and ginsengy actually ha..

Then after that.. it was time to go home to nikki's place!! Almost an hour, 45 mins by train.. Michelle was really nice and accompanied me on the train till end of zone 1..

Hello everybody!!!

I had an ABSOLUTELY great time in melbourne!!! Ha it being my break and holiday week.. of course everyday was exciting and full of activities!! Haha n it's no thanks to my dearest frens and babes.. Nikki and Joanna!!! haha they were loads of fun, not to mention so graciously letting me stay at their place and yes, not throwing me out in the end. (Excueme nikki... haha). N my cousin too, michelle.. she met up with me for dinner and stuff and also the royal melbourne show!!!

Yup it was great.. a good break from sydney and life at home..

There are so many things to talk about!!! N of course photos to show u guys too.. next time when i see u guys, i'll give u all a running commentary of what i did and saw haha. Meanwhile here are the photos and a brief description haha..

Fish Market again!!!!!

Today the seafood lovers went to the fish market again haha..
N of course we wack the sashimi ah! Nice... We ate salmon sashimi and tried some kingfish sashimi but the kingfish one wasn't very nice yar. Elizabeth puts it as more fishy but it din really taste much to me ha. We also ate calamari, grilled fish and oysters!! but there's still more to try!! Like crab and prawns!! I love them.. haha. So next time la.. So there.. Me, ying ying, eliz and xiu juan!!!

Also, some photos when we walked across some bridge at darling harbour on the way to the fish market.. Geraldine was with us till she went to meet her fren. The group photo was taken by a stranger haha.. as u can see it's a bit blur. i choose someone who most likely wun run away with my camera..

Yup i've got nice new shoes.. Shoes here are so not cheap especially if they're the far east kind and u pay over AUD$70 for it.. yup n also i have a slight problem. Some shops dun carry size 5 adult size! Sometimes any smaller, it'll come under kids haha. Anyway i came across these shoes in target and was wondering if they look nice coz they fit so well!! But after a while, it looks quite cute la, the chinese way haha! So yar.. it was on a discount all the way to $12.. so just buy la and then when i went to the counter, and the cashier scans the price tag. It registered as $5!!!!!! imagine that!! Ha the cashier was shocked too and looked at the price tag that said $12 and he went oh well..

hey guys..

Sorry there has been no postings up lately. Ha some of u all may know y and where haha but yar.. It's because i've not been having good sleep, tossing n turning at night, my shoulders are aching and other circumstances. So yup i meant to post pictures of my buys lately!!! Thank goodness for shopping man.. Otherwise i wouldn't know wat else i'll do (of course other than talking to u guys on the skype n stuff!!) Yup, this week is gonna be a week spent on doing my interview report at a comfortable rate. Ha why hurry? Anyway it has to be concise coz it's only a 1500 word assignment with so many things to write. Not so grandmother huh..

Anyway i'm down to my last episode of season 5 alias!! Boohoo after that no more alias.. the show has finished its run.

Yup n trying to get my room re-organised but there are a couple of hindrances so yar a change will be good and hopefully for my sleep and overall well-being. Yes ok then sorry i haven't been mailing. the weather and not to mention my mood has been sucky. Yest, i happen to be out and it was the worst day to be out i tell u. It was raining, it wa cold like winter and the wind was howling!! I was never miserable in my life.. wished i could go home but there were thingssss to be done.

Ok then keep that mail coming and i'll reply them ok??

Everybody wants a lazy saturday with nobody to disturb u.. yup u heard it rite.

N trying to get some work is just a bore!!! hai.. i need to go and not just to buy meat but haha wat else.. shopping.. think i'll do more shopping huh. Ha.. it's therapeutic and it's something to do.

Ha well now that there is no more alias to watch!!!!! NO... our internet connection got slowed down the past few days coz we sort of exceeding 15GB for the week! Ask us how we did that.. ha ying ying the one with the fast dl speed, got gilmore girls and scrubs and alias only up to episode 14!!!!

NOOOOO... only 3 more episodes to the end of alias boohoo.. Yar anyway now we try to dl it now since the connection speed is back to normal but it's only like 4kb per second! Hai i think it'll take ages to dl.. so meanwhile can't do work coz i'm feeling sian n no alias n stuck at home so i watched spongebob on youtube the other day!! haha it's so funny sometimes.. Enjoy.

Welcome to telstra stadium!!! At the Olympic park!! We went there on sunday to watch an NRL match. That stands for national rugby league.. just rugby. Between clubs.. Ha we watched the last match of the season with the last team (south sydney rabbitohs) n the not so last team (old queensland cowboys). It was ok la.. got a bit boring towards the end coz maybe both teams were getting tired. Score? 34-12.. Cowboys won ha of course. They managed to get 6 tries with some moves like a fake n switches, etc. But the rabbitohs had no game plan in mind i think, mainly "Just take down that man!"
I thought the telstra stadium was the one with the track as well but nope.. then which one is it..
So it was an experience.. It was funny to see that even the rabbitohs had avid supports! All wearing jerseys n stuff and they made up most of the crowd. N i had my cup of tooheys.. yum!

Me, ruggers or cheerleaders? hahaha..

Outisde the stadium.. There are all these sticks things.. if u go closely,. there are all the names of people who participated or donors or volunteers like schs, etc on it, something like that.

N lastly.. some trees with lovely flowers.. Spring is coming.. not so cold anymore..

Hey guys!!!

Hai tom is monday! Think I might get the monday blues coz it's back to school. Sigh.. weekends always seem to fly by so fast but if u think abt it, it's really only 2 days.

Well, somehow I was in an exceptionally good mood during and after church despite having a headache in the morning and staying in at home ha. Yar.. So the girls went out and bought groceries and guess what? They bought Bubble tea for me! Haha.. that is sure one thing that can perk me up among many other things of course.

They have bubble tea here too and usually the brand all around is called easy way. But it is expensive.. usually u see all the asians queuing up to buy it ha. They have 3 sizes. A medium cup (abt spore's size or a bit smaller) green tea or flavoured green tea cost $3.20 and u have to pay 50 cents extra for pearls (Haha this is like some advertisement or information guide). So yar.. but it's a sacrifice to make. Haha.. I like it! My current and usual is Passionfruit green tea with pearls! haha.. Enjoying it.

So everybody, have a great week ahead and hopefully no monday blues.. If not, find a bubble tea shop and slurp away!

Look at that lovely plate of sashimi!!! N guess what.. we only paid $5.90 for it! Cheap ah.. Can u imagine when u go to some japanese place for example sakae sushi how much it would have cost? Shiok! haha I bet many people are agreeing with me especially those who like to eat sashimi.. me, je, gloria, etc ha. Yup so me and ying ying were sharing that plate very happily.. it was good!

So this was at the fish market! It is literally a fish market.. they have a few shops that sell all the kinds of raw seafood u can think of.. fish, squid, prawns, scallop, lobster, crab, etc etc. So it definitely smells fishy ha. These shops are in little buildings by itself but then there is a bigger one where there are more shops selling cooked seafood!! Yum! We didn't eat there coz we were too hungry before walking there. But the food I saw people carrying was great! They have grilled fish, crab, calamari, etc. Ha deliciously.. there goes my chloesterol ha.

So all seafood lovers.. this is a must-go.. haha bet my family n jeremy will love it so I'll bring u guys there!

DFO, Olympic Park

Hi there!

The weekend was quite fun and of course, it flew by so fast! Sigh before u know it, it's time for school again haha. Anyway since on weekends, the day leaves me rather tired so here I am backdating my entries.

Well on Saturday, we went to DFO. It's called direct factory outlet. They have it in sydney and some parts of australia too like brisbane I think. It's a building on it's own and it houses many stores with brands u see in shopping centers. Just that supposedly it's cheaper and kinda direct from the factory?? I dunno.. but anyway went there and lots of sales and clothes and stuff to buy. But in the end, I only bought a bag for..... $5!!!!!! haha.. i'll put up another entry with some of my purchases haha!

Anyway I read about how to get to DFO from the brochure and it said the best way to get there was to go to Strathfield station and take a bus there. Still knowing that it is somewhere near the Olympic Park and Olympic Park is quite near our house, we still took the train and bus haha. So when it was time to go home, we decided to walk, of course we took quite long. Running home is quite near but walking isn't. ha but it was a good chance to look at the place. U see the various stadiums and centers for different sports. There are different kinds of birds around which I dunno the names of. We took some pictures but decided next time we'll take more. Took a shorter route home instead of exploring the whole site. The sun was shining so it was a cool day where u can walk around in ur t-shirt.

look at this! It's at some obscure place but when u look down from the bridge (another bridge), they spray mist to give it the impression it's like a deep valley! Quite ingenious n scary.. haha. Look at that great shot haha!

Haha everybody, here are more photos..

Finally got my lazy ass and loaded the photos into the com.. I took these photos in the first week in Sydney. We went to the train station, circular quay. That is in the city and also where the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge is ha. So this is me.. The weather was cloudy so the photos were a bit dark. Also, there was a ship docked so we went up to take a free look..

Ok so here are some photos that we took around the area, there are shops and on weekends the rocks market is opened here. The rocks market mainly sells handicraft stuff and some food like nuts and chocolate. The handicraft stuff sold by designers themselves like jewellery and photoalbums, etc. But they are not cheap, expensive in fact..

HI everybody!!

Just had dinner not long ago.. and we were talking about how we are going to put on weight if we are not going to do anything about. You see.. i'm never hungry.

I was never a breakfast person.. dunno y but maybe coz i'm always rushing out in the mornings for school so i dun take breakfast. I'm used to it and fine with it. So by the time it's lunch time, i'm hungry. BUT here in sydney, I'm never hungry! The rest (Ying ying, Kay, Geraldine) like to have a rather heavy breakfast so I eat a smaller portion then when lunch comes, i'm not hungry but i eat, then it gets dark early so we tend to cook and eat dinner early so i'm always full. haha!!! guess u get the idea.. but it sure is good for the digestive system ha.

So tom we are going running!!!! Or shall I put it for myself, jogging. I haven't exercised in a while ok so jogging is a good start. We will be jogging to the Sydney Olympic site! This will be our second time. Actually if u were to run there from our house, it is quite near, 20 mins? or less? Yup so there.. u can't really see or visit the facilities but u get to see the surroundings. To get into the facilities, it is expensive. For example, the indoor pool, it cost $6.40 to get in and the stadium about $27. Oh well.. but i told the rest that I might consider using the pool coz it's the Olympic site leh! The pool which we watched athletes on tv compete.. and do my somewhat Olympic swim there haha. Many people use that pool..

School was only an hour today at 9am and it was qualitative research so u can imagine it was rather dry but one thing I notice abt the lessons is that the content is rather little for that lesson but somehow the lecturer can drag it to an hour or 2 just talking or elaborating a LOT about it, like making some jokes here and there, saying their views, add salt, add pepper, ask students what they think, ask students for examples they've come across. But really, the content they want to teach is quite little. Maybe coz it's just the first lesson. And lecturers talking more and involving the class may be a good thing ha. So there.. Hello!

Today, we cooked our first beef dish!!! Yum yum, it was good! We diced the beef, stir-fried it with onions, some pepper and seasoning. Steady ah.. Yup surprisingly it was tender! (Of course with the splendid cooking skills and timing ha) But the beef we bought was the cheaper range, $6.99 per kg, it's called gravy beef. haha like what is gravy beef rite.. I told ying ying maybe it's called that coz u used that part of the cow to make gravy. Ha.. but I went to search online out of curiousity and din get anything much except how to make gravy for beef. Oh well.. It was good n that's it. Ha..

Today, we were suppose to have one one hour lesson at one in school but it was cancelled. Ha so great! Not only did I sleep in till 1130am (dad, dun worry no school..), we went to paramatta shopping center again! We went there on monday, it's actually the group of shopping centers called Westfield. Yup, walked around, lots of sales. Bought a skirt for $5!! So cheap! Then went to woolworths and bought lots of food, snacks and food and snacks and food... Got the idea? Ha..

Have I told you guys the chocolate chip cookies that I absolutely love here???

It is the brand PARADISE! Really.. it's nice and crunchy, the right kind of crispyness and the right amount of real chocolate chunks. Haha.. for not really a chocolate or cookie lover, this is good! And it's cheap too. for a packet, it's about $2 only. Ha so next time when I come back to Singapore, I'm gonna buy back for everybody! Do make orders if you particulary want some ha..

K then tom I have another one hour lesson but it's at 9am so must wake up early! (Yes dad.. i'm waking up.. haha kidding k) Maybe we'll go out again ha.. hmm..

Ok nearest birthday coming up is Jeremy's!!!! Woohoo.. he is going to be 23 on the 25th of August!! Still looking handsome :)

Wonders of Internet

Hello Folkies!!!

Hahaha.. Finally I have my internet at home!!!! The freaking internet company took a week to activate it. Oh well but since we have it now everybody's on the com ha. No more early nights! We have been sleeping quite early coz nothing much to do. Haha.. but what we have been doing at home is watching tv and cooking!! haha we're gonna be cooking experts.

Today, me and ying ying (it's our turn to cook this week as part of the duty roster) made a special dish. What we made was vegetable dumpling! Ha i got the idea while walking home with geraldine after sch. It's mince pork mixed with carrot and mushroom wrapped with cabbage! N then u steam it.. sounds steady ah. It came out not too bad! ahh... Good ah.

Yup and then for television, the tv here is quite good at night. Sometimes, on fridays, they have all kinds of gameshows and I mean all kinds haha. They show quite good movies.. sometimes 2 a day. On sunday night, we watched lord of the rings: return of the king, which is the recent one! Then they showed other movies like uptown girls, just married, 28 days later, serendipity, etc. But of course didn't watch all..

Last week or so, Me, prof (who now wants to be known as Kay Sing haha.. how about Kay for short? Stylo la..), Ying Ying went to the train stop Rhodes and the Rhodes shopping center has shops, Ikea and a cinema! So we watched pirates of the carribean!!! Nice.. it was not bad, all the action. i like action movies.. The cinema was double-storeyed kind of. We sat on the first floor and the screen was super big! Like super wide and tall if u put it.. after the movie, I was feeling a bit "hin" after the show ha. But overall, the movie experience was good. A normal ticket can cost up to $14 bucks i think but on tuesdays, it's only $8.50.

Yup so anyway now that we have internet and wireless in our homes, it has created a world of opportunity.. ahahaha. Here's to more blog entries (I hope), emails and online conversations. Guys, u all can download skype so i can chit-chat with u! (Or Gloria, Sky-pi, k just joking) Haha.. N also the wonders of internet u make friends and be happening, like my mum. She just got friendster haha! My mum's so cool ah. Ok then guys.. was up chatting with family now i'm tired!!! Another entry another day.. Cya later mates!

Hi Guys!!!!

Haha finally you hear from me. I just had my enrollment on thurs so now I have a student ID. I can use the computer lab now.. it's a few minutes from where I am temporary staying which is the Yannadah hostel on campus. Well the campus is quite "wu-lu", it's near houses but it's along a whole stretch of cemetery haha. Quite scenic.. haha. Yup.. to walk to the shops and the train station (Libcombe), you need to walk abt 25 mins!!!! sian ah.. sometimes we walk fast till I feel hot, can you imagine in the cold weather?? ha.. Anyway despite the cold weather which I find now bearable, I bathe everyday!!! Haha.. It's shiok with the hot water but Sydney is facing a drought right now so I try not to enjoy myself too long in the shower.

So yar now it's just lots of errands to run like going to settle the apartment stuff. We got an apartment near Libcombe station. So stuff like.. water, electrictiy, phoneline (they call it landline here), internet and furniture. Yup.. will post pictures when I get my internet at my new home. So after that.. hopefully sight-seeing and shopping!!!

Meanwhile... you guys take care!! Also, if there weren't enought time at the airport, just want to thank you everyody for coming to send me off: NYP friends (nikki, eve, jiahui, regina, etc), Cheryl, Shan Ying, Team H and girlfriends, Jeremy's family and of course! My family and Jeremy!!!

*er-erm* WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Never thought I would have one coz I have to update it religiously. Anyway my dearest sister Hannah Goh suggested I get one for fun so when I'm in Australia, everybody can just log on and read what's going on. So here it is!

Now, dun ask me how I got my username. I was struggling to think of a cool username, haha! Desperate, I decided to try buzz lightyear, like the toy I have at home and there already is one! Anyway this sounds not bad ah.. din want to use the one Gloria Goh suggested: polka dots.. haha.
